What motivated you to start personal training? My main motivation for starting personal training was to manage the persistent low back pain that had been significantly affecting my daily life. Simple activities like bending to pick up objects, sitting for long hours at my desk, or even walking short distances became uncomfortable and limited my mobility. Since I had little experience with exercise, I wanted to work with someone knowledgeable who could provide proper guidance, design a fitness program tailored to my body’s specific needs, and teach me safe and effective exercise techniques. Additionally, because of my genetics and lifestyle, I’m at a higher risk of developing cardio-metabolic diseases. Personal training seemed like a good way to build healthier habits like regular cardio workouts and mindful eating, that would support my long-term health and overall well-being.
How has your lifestyle or mindset changed since starting?
The first few sessions were challenging and sometimes made me question whether I could keep going. It pushed me to find more patience and determination than I realised I had. Gradually, I began to enjoy the challenge and feel proud of my progress. Now, I see exercise as an important way to take care of myself. I’ve become more mindful about my food choices and more motivated to engage in sustainable physical activities like walking regularly.
What results have you experienced (physically, mentally, emotionally)?
The biggest result for me has been the relief from my back pain. As my muscles have grown stronger, they now provide much better support for my back. I feel more active and capable—simple things like walking short distances or lifting objects have become easier and far less tiring. Over the past few months, I’ve also lost some weight, which has boosted my confidence and made me feel even better overall.
Beyond the physical improvements, I’ve noticed a real change in my mental focus and energy. My work involves a lot of research and data analysis, so staying sharp is important. Regular exercise has helped me concentrate better and think more clearly, which in turn supports my productivity.
Living alone abroad can sometimes be lonely, especially being far from family and friends. But the support I receive through personal training has made a big difference. Aaron is not just a trainer—he’s a partner and friend who consistently encourages and looks out for me throughout this journey. The sense of community he fosters, with social activities like park walks, creates a feeling of belonging and mutual support that is both empowering and uplifting.
Would you recommend personal training to others? Why?
I would definitely recommend personal training to anyone wanting to improve their health and well-being. Whilst there’s plenty of fitness information out there, having a personal trainer means you get advice that’s personalised, safe, and effective. For example, Aaron adjusted my workouts whenever I felt pain or discomfort, ensuring I made steady progress without setbacks, which I wouldn’t have known how to do on my own. The personal connection also makes a big difference—it kept me motivated even on days when I lacked energy. For me, it’s more than just exercise; it’s a full experience that offers genuine support and encouragement from someone who truly cares about your progress and works with you to achieve lasting results.

My children are my motivation.
I want to see them succeed, grow old with them, and eventually take care of my grandchildren. I know that to do all of that, I need to be fit and healthy.
Since starting personal training, my lifestyle has changed for the better. I’m no longer stuck in my old unhealthy habits, making poor food choices and living a sedentary life. Now, I exercise twice a week with Aaron, swim nearly every day, and have recently added 20–30 minute walks a couple of times per week. I feel much more positive about myself, and my mental health has improved dramatically.
So far, I’ve lost a total of 10 stone. I’m fitter, stronger, and more confident than ever before. Everyday tasks that used to feel like a chore are now so much easier, thanks to strength training. My depression is now rare, my anxiety is much more under control, and I genuinely look forward to getting out of bed each day.
I would absolutely recommend personal training with Aaron. Strength training doesn’t just make you physically stronger, it makes you healthier and mentally stronger too. Aaron makes every session enjoyable because he really knows his stuff. He’s always happy to help, and nothing is ever too much trouble. I’d definitely recommend training with Aaron. Deciding to get fitter and healthier has been one the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I started my fitness journey in 2015 with cardio classes twice a week. Before then, I had tried various diets and exercise classes. They all brought short-term changes, but nothing that lasted.
In July 2019, I decided to take things more seriously and signed up for personal training sessions. I started with one-to-one sessions before moving into group training soon after. At the time, I needed support and guidance to prepare for the Yorkshire Three Peaks charity walk I had signed up for. My main goals were to be hike-ready, lose a few pounds, and build the strength to complete what I knew would be a physically and mentally challenging walk. Aaron had just 12 weeks to get me prepared.
Fast forward six years, and I’m still here! Exercise has become a great stress reliever for me. With PT sessions, I’ve been able to lose weight and maintain it, while also receiving professional advice and support around nutrition, which has been invaluable throughout my journey.
I’ve noticed my energy levels are much higher after training, and weight training in particular has helped me build both physical and mental resilience, especially during my more challenging charity walks.
Before PT, my understanding of food and exercise was limited. Now, I’ve realised that consistency in both is the real key to success.
I like setting regular goals, and I aim to do one or two charity walks each year. This year, I’ve committed to two marathon walks to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
I would absolutely recommend personal training. It’s not only a great way to stay accountable but also to connect with a friendly, like-minded community.
Trainers work with you to set achievable goals and provide consistent support along the way.
Training with Aaron in group sessions has made the gym environment feel supportive and motivating. The encouragement from others, along with celebrating milestones,
like lifting heavier weights or mastering new exercise, it makes the experience even more rewarding.

What motivated me to start personal training was years of training on my own but never being able to stay consistent. I often felt unorganised, constantly changing my goals, and I realised I needed professional guidance. I had tried other trainers before but never connected with their style. Then I found Aaron.
Since training with him, my lifestyle and mindset have completely changed. I now weight train twice a week and run two to three times. I follow a plan that is tailored to my goals while still enjoying the motivation and community of the group classes. My knowledge of food, macros and fuelling my body has improved massively. I also feel comfortable asking questions without fear of sounding silly, because everything is explained clearly until I understand.
The results I have achieved are huge. I can now run longer distances thanks to learning heart-rate pacing, which gave me the confidence to join a running group and take part in league races. I have completed several road races and even a 22km trail race. My strength has improved as I now hit new personal bests in squats and deadlifts, and my upper body strength has increased too. Mentally, I am stronger, more focused, more positive, and less likely to quit when I have an off day.
This consistency has carried over into my personal life. As a family, we are more motivated and active, and even my son has had sessions with Aaron, giving him the foundations for his own journey.
The group sessions are a safe and supportive space with no judgement, just encouragement. With activities outside the gym as well, it truly feels like a community built on positivity.
I would recommend Aaron to anyone. Training with him has transformed my fitness, my mindset, my confidence and my lifestyle. Thank you, Aaron.
