My Personal Training Journey with Aaron By Stacey.

I first decided to start personal training because, despite going to the gym for many years, I struggled with consistency. I often felt unorganised, constantly changing my goals, and knew I would benefit from professional guidance. I had worked with different personal trainers in the past, but I never connected with their style or approach.

Since training with Aaron, both my lifestyle and mindset have changed for the better. My knowledge has improved, and I now feel more confident about fitting my goals into my busy life. Training with Aaron has helped me understand my strengths and weaknesses, and he has taught me not to be ashamed if I don’t always hit my targets. Instead, he puts things into perspective, which has been hugely beneficial for my mental health.

The results I’ve achieved have been amazing. Aaron coached me in heart-rate-based pacing, which gave me the confidence to run longer distances. I’ve since joined a running group, taken part in league races, and even completed a 22km solo trail race at Tittesworth Water. My strength has also increased, hitting personal bests in squats and deadlifts, and I’ve noticed a big improvement in my upper body strength. Mentally, I feel more positive, present, and focused, both in and out of training sessions. I am less likely to quit when I have an off day, and I feel emotionally stronger and more consistent across all areas of my life.

I would recommend Aaron to anyone looking for a personal trainer. My experience has been genuinely life-changing. The group sessions are not only motivating but also create a supportive, judgment-free community where we all encourage each other. It’s a safe space to train, share experiences, and build positivity together.

Outside of the gym, Aaron also provides opportunities for different activities, adding variety and fun to training.

Additional Reflections

  • I currently weight train twice a week and aim to run two to three times a week.

  • I enjoy the group classes for the social support and motivation, but I also follow my own individual plan tailored to my goals.

  • My knowledge of nutrition—food groups, macros, tracking, and fuelling my lifestyle—has improved massively.

  • I can ask Aaron questions without fear of judgment. Everything is explained clearly and repeated if needed, ensuring I fully understand.

  • Training has improved my consistency not only in fitness but also in my personal life. As a family, we are now more motivated and active together.

  • My son has even joined Aaron for some sessions, giving him the foundations to start his own journey.

Thank you, Aaron!
